What’s the difference between a professional from The Party Troupe and a beginner?

For starters, the quality of our face paints make a BIG difference. Our face painters use only cosmetic grade face paints. We think that something being applied to your kids’ faces should be of the highest quality.

Many beginners use cheap face painting kits or, worse, acrylic paints from the craft store. The cheap kits are made in China and have been known to cause reactions on sensitive skin. They also have a poorer quality so they don’t apply as evenly on the face and are prone to being smudged off more easily (especially with fidgety children). Acrylic paints from the craft store are even worse (and we’ve seen supposed “professionals” use them!). These paints are NOT made for human skin and can cause rashes and, in some cases, severe allergic reactions. We’ve heard horror stories from other professionals that we network with of kids being taken to the emergency room after being painted with these paints!

Hygiene is also a factor. The Party Troupe face painters all utilize industry standard hygiene practices with regard to cleaning and sanitizing sponges and brushes in between kids. We’ve seen other face painters use the same paint brush to apply paint to the lips of hundreds of kids over the course of a long day at a fair.

But even without the safety concerns posed by other face painters, you’re still right to be concerned about the overall quality of the work.
