Why is this important?
We’ve seen what can happen when you don’t hire a pro for your event. Many magicians have a “one size fits all” mentality to magic shows. We’ve seen it happen! They either show up to a corporate party and perform silly kids magic tricks, or they show up to a child’s birthday party and perform boring card tricks and scary illusions, such as the classic “head chopper,” that simulates cutting off a child’s head in a dangerous way (this is something a guest at one of our parties told us the magician she hired from another company did at her son’s 5th birthday party!).
Our professional magicians know the difference and we make sure that you get the right kind of magic show for your party.
Isn’t this common sense? Don’t all magicians know the difference?
Nope, apparently not. We can tell you stories! The reality is that most magicians are just hobbyists. They don’t invest the time needed to hone their craft to make their magic engaging and entertaining. And those that do often don’t invest the time to understand the differences between performing for different audiences. But you wouldn’t play the same movie at a children’s birthday party that you would for adults, so why should the magician you hire do the same magic shows?

Magic For Kids
The Party Troupe’s Kids Magicians are magicians who specialize in silly magic for kids between the ages of 4 and 10. This kind of magic is ideal for children’s birthday parties, family picnics, preschools, elementary schools, library summer reading programs, and more!
Our combination packages are based on availability. While we can always find you a magician and a balloon twister/face painter, our availability of artists that do both things is far more limited. The prices below are for one artist who does both services. The price will be more for multiple artists.

Magic For Families
The Party Troupe’s Family Magic Shows are different than our Kids Magic Shows in a subtle, but important way. Family Magic Shows are ideal for gatherings where the audience, while it may have children in it, also has families without kids. These shows are all family friendly with clean humor, but are less silly and geared more toward wowing audiences than keeping young kids giggling the whole time!

Strolling Magic
The Party Troupe’s Strolling Magicians perform amazing, close up miracles with every day objects! Our magicians can stroll through a crowd, mingling with guests, or they can go table to table before or after dinner. Strolling magicians are a perfect choice to add FUN to a fair or festival, but they can also add classy entertainment to a formal event, such as a wedding or company holiday party.
Our strolling magic is ALWAYS clean, with no inappropriate humor, but it can be tailored to fit for mixed family audiences or audiences with all adults.
Some Frequently Asked Questions...
For kids and family magic shows your magician will ideally have a space of at least 4×6 feet, but our magicians are adaptable. The ideal performance setup is one with the kids sitting on the ground, near the magician as they perform. It’s best if the kids are close by, not distanced too far out. Ultimately, though, our magicians are adaptable.
For Strolling Magic, any space you have is fine. Our close up magicians will stroll through your party and perform magic while mingling with your guests.
We simply book first come, first serve. Most people start booking us about six weeks before their party. Some people book us a year in advance, and others book us a day before. If we have availability, we’ll work with you. Although it’s good to book early, if you waited until the last minute, don’t feel embarrassed. Give us a call – we may still have a magician for your event!
Many people do choose to give a tip between 10 and 20 percent. Unlike waiters and hairdressers, however, it is not required that you tip your magician. Our Party Troupe Magicians will treat you with the same professionalism and respect no matter your decision with regard to tipping.
